Guest Speaker : Barbara Helzlsouer, Sabre Travel Network

Barbara Helzlsouer is the Director, Sales Consulting for the Sabre Travel Network organization.  She brings a strong management and industry background to this position. Prior to this position, she gained experience in various roles within the Sabre Travel Network organization. She was the Managing Director for GetThere Partner Program.  Her primary focus was on reselling GetThere to corporations through the Travel Management Company channel.  Under her leadership she was responsible for managing the strategic direction, sales and day-to-day business efforts for the overall reseller channel.  Barbara began her career in travel with a strong background in budgets and cost at American Airlines.  She brought this background to Sabre in the 1990’s.  She continues to build her resume with extensive work experience in sales and merchandising while working for Sabre Travel Network.  She compliments this industry background with her education and Bachelors in Business Administration degree in Business Management and her Masters in Business Administration with a focus on e-Business.  Barbara also has the entrepreneurial background of having owned her on residential and commercial cleaning business franchise while living in the Chicago area.  This was later sold at a substantial profit and continues operation today.

She is the 7^th daughter in a family of 9 girls.  She grew up in Texas and enjoys spending time with her husband and very large family. She has 22 year old daughter, Nicole, who recently graduated from The University of Texas and starting a career in finance with DTCC.com.  (The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation)   Barbara is involved in the travel industry externally with participation in the GBTA Sustainability Committee.  Her hobbies include, playing tennis, all kinds of crafts including stain glass artwork.  She also loves to watch all kinds of sports and is an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
